Individual Piece Specifications

First Use
✓ Wash all six pieces with warm water and a mild dish soap using a soft sponge or cloth.
✓ Rinse thoroughly. Dry immediately with a soft cloth — do not air dry.
✓ If any piece has a slightly dark or uneven surface finish from the crafting process, a light rub with lemon and salt will even it out. Rinse and dry after.

Daily Use
✓ Use for serving all standard Indian meals — rotis, dal, sabzi, rice, curd, pickle, halwa.
✓ The Thali accommodates all katoris and the halwa katori simultaneously — arrange in the traditional thali configuration.
✓ The glass is ideal for water, lassi, buttermilk, or juice. Fill it just before serving — do not leave water standing in Kansa for more than a few hours.
✓ The spoon works for all wet and dry dishes. The Kansa surface stays cool even with warm food.

Daily Care
✓ Wash immediately after each use with mild soap and a soft sponge. Do not let food dry on the surface.
✓ Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth — always dry immediately to prevent water marks.
✓ Store in a dry place. If storing for a long period, wrap in a soft cloth to slow oxidation.

Weekly Polish — the Kansa Glow Ritual
✓ Squeeze half a lemon on the surface. Sprinkle a pinch of salt or rock salt over it.
✓ Rub gently with a soft cloth or the lemon itself in small circular motions for 2–3 minutes.
✓ Alternatively: mix tamarind (imli) paste with salt into a soft paste. Apply, leave for 3 minutes, rub gently, rinse.
✓ Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Dry immediately. The Kansa will return to its warm satin finish.

What to Avoid
✗ Never use steel wool, abrasive scrubbers, or chemical cleaners — they damage the matte finish
✗ Do not put in the dishwasher
✗ Do not leave standing water or wet food in the pieces for extended periods

The Peedhi Kansa Matte Dinner Set was crafted in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh— a city whose relationship with metal spans over four centuries. While Moradabadi best known for its brass tradition, its artisans work across the spectrum of Indian metalcraft — including Kansa, the alloy of copper and tin that predates brass in Indian culinary history.
Each piece in this set is individually shaped — the thali spun and pressed, the katoris formed and finished, the glass turned to its fluted profile. The matte satin finish is applied by hand during the final stage, requiring more time and skill than a machine-polished mirror finish. The result is a surface that is smooth but not cold, refined but not clinical.
