THE THATHERA CRAFT

Rooted in Tradition,
Refined by Skilled Hands.

At Peedhi, craftsmanship is a journey—not a shortcut. We thoughtfully combine modern manufacturing for precision with the expertise of Thathera artisans for hand finishing, hammering, polishing and quality inspection. The result is cookware that honours India's metalworking heritage while meeting the expectations of today's kitchens.

"True craftsmanship is not about making everything by hand. It's about knowing where the human touch matters most."
Meet the Artisans

The Legacy of India's Brass City

The story of Jagadhri's metal craftsmanship began over two centuries ago during the late Mughal era. As northern India witnessed the growth of trade and skilled industries, hereditary communities of metal artisans—including Thatheras and Kaseras—travelled from regions such as Rajasthan, Punjab, and the Gangetic plains of present-day Uttar Pradesh. Invited by local rulers and attracted by thriving trade routes, they settled in Jagadhri, bringing with them generations of expertise in shaping brass, copper, and kansa by hand.

Over time, these artisan families transformed Jagadhri into what is proudly known today as India's Brass City. Their knowledge was passed from one generation to the next—not through books, but through years of apprenticeship within their families. Every vessel reflected patience, precision, and centuries-old techniques, creating utensils that were both beautiful and built to last. Even today, that legacy lives on in the workshops of Jagadhri, where traditional craftsmanship continues to shape authentic brass, copper, and kansa cookware. At Peedhi, we are proud to carry this heritage forward, preserving the craftsmanship of the past while bringing it into the kitchens of today.

Hear From Our Customers

Good daily use kadhai

Have been using this for daily cooking for about a month now, heats up faster than I expected. Packaging was solid too, no dents when it arrived.

Kalai holding up fine so far

Was a bit worried about the tin lining wearing off with regular dal and sabzi, but it's held up okay so far. Will update if that changes.

Exactly like photos

Bit pricier than I planned on spending but the finish looks better in person than in the product photos, so I don't regret it.

Used as a return gift

Bought a few of these as return gifts for my sister's griha pravesh, everyone seemed to like them.

Best decision

Switched over from a nonstick tawa last month. Easy to get the heat right, the rotis puff up nicely.

My mom uses it more than me

Got this mainly for myself but my mom has basically taken it over lol. Good size for kneading dough for the whole family at once.
