Peedhi Hammered Brass Tawa (Roti Tawa)

The Brass Tawa is where every roti meets its moment — steady heat, honest metal, no shortcuts. Peedhi's hammered Tawa is hand-hammered by artisans in Jagadhri — each strike placed by hand, never by machine. Made from pure brass, it conducts heat evenly across its surface, giving flatbreads that characteristic golden base and soft, puffed centre that a coated modern tawa simply cannot replicate. It arrives ready to use — no seasoning required, no pre-treatment. Just place it on the flame and cook.

Place the tawa on a medium gas flame and allow it to heat for 60–90 seconds before cooking. Roll your roti to your preferred thickness and place it directly on the brass surface. The hammered texture holds a thin layer of ghee or oil evenly, preventing the paratha from sticking. Cook each side until golden spots appear. The insulated handle stays cool throughout — no cloth or mitt required. For phulkas, transfer directly to the open flame after the first side is cooked, as you normally would. Wipe the tawa clean between rotis with a folded damp cloth if needed.

Do:
